About the Competition

The competition is organized by the Sikorsky Challenge Innovation Holding in collaboration with the UK Government and the TechBridge platform.

Objective:

  • accelerating the implementation of innovations in the field of humanitarian demining
  • search for technologies that will enable more efficient and safer cleaning of territories
  • support for Ukrainian developers on a global level

Project Topics

Innovative technologies for remote detection of explosive objects
Use of drones, unmanned ground vehicles, AI data analysis, and multi-sensor platforms (GPR, LiDAR, thermal imaging cameras) for accurate and safe detection of mines and shells over large areas

Robotic systems for demining
Development of ground and air robotic devices for automated clearance of territories, minimization of human involvement and risks for deminers in real conditions.

Digital maps and data analytics for demining planning
Creation and use of electronic maps of contaminated areas, platforms for collecting and analyzing field information, real-time management of work

Other innovative solutions
Projects that have the potential to help in the field of humanitarian demining.

What Should the Application Include?

Contact information of the participant or team

Brief description of the project or solution (up to 1,000 characters)

Technology readiness level (TRL)

Project name (up to 5 words)

Specified topic (from the list of areas)

Project presentation (PDF) in PitchDeck format

Additionally, it is recommended to include:

  • Link to the project website/video (if available)
  • Information about the availability of a production base
  • Data on patents, know-how, or submitted applications
  • Participation goals: investments, clients, production, etc.

Questions and Answers

Can I submit an application without a presentation?

No, submitting a PDF presentation of your project is a mandatory condition for participation in the competition. Without it, your application will not be considered. If you need a template or example of the format, please contact the organizers.

Can one team or person submit multiple projects?

Yes, the number of submitted projects is not limited. Each project is filled out in a separate application.

Is individual participation allowed?

Yes, both individual and team participation are allowed.

What areas are applications accepted for?

We make decisions within three areas: from drones for mine detection to analytics systems, robots, cartography, and platforms for demining planning.

In what language should I submit my presentation?

In Ukrainian or English. Both languages are acceptable.
