The Global Greenchem Hackathon is a unique opportunity for innovative teams to apply green chemistry principles and approaches to address real industrial challenges. Some industrial companies provide a list of tasks for the participants to work on. The main objective is to find environmentally safe, efficient and cost-effective solutions based on the principles of Green Chemistry
Sustainable chemicals and products design with a focus on renewable raw materials
Technologies and methods to reduce waste and emissions in the production process
Use of secondary raw materials to create new safe materials

Technological solutions to optimise chemical processes and reduce their environmental impact

Who can participate?
The Hackathon is open to all those who are interested in the development of innovative industrial solutions based on the principles
of Green Chemistry.
You can register individually or as a team of 3-5 people. If you register for the Hackathon without a team, we will help you to get in touch with other participants who are also in need of partners to do a cool project together
Students and postgraduates
in chemistry, environmental science, engineering and related disciplines who have knowledge and skills in this area

The Global GreenChem Hackathon is part of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation's Global Green Chemistry Innovation and Networking Program (GreenChem) with financial support from the Global Environment Facility. The Program is implemented by the Center for Green Chemistry and Green Engineering at Yale University, USA. The Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Centre is the national implementing partner of the project
